WHPH (97.7 FM, "The Peach") is a radio station licensed to serve Jemison, Alabama, USA. The station is owned by Great South Wireless, LLC.

The station airs an oldies music format that the station describes as "Superhits of the 60's and 70's", although it also includes songs from the early 1980s. The station is also the Birmingham-area affiliate of the John Tesh radio program. On Sundays, the station carries religious programs and Christian praise and worship music until 12 noon, and then resumes the oldies format Sunday afternoons. WHPH broadcasts to Central Alabama and the southern Birmingham area.[2] Cities also served include Clanton, Maplesville, Alabaster, Pelham, Thorsby, Helena and Montevallo, among other communities.

In August 2003, longtime owner Southeastern Broadcasting Company, Inc., reached an agreement to sell this station to Great South RFDC, LLC.[3] The deal was approved by the FCC on October 30, 2003, and the transaction was consummated on November 28, 2003.[4]

This station, previously known as WEZZ-FM since 1982, was assigned the WHPH call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on January 26, 2006.[1]

In January 2007, this station was acquired by Great South Wireless LLC from Great South RFDC LLC as part of a six station deal for a reported total sale price of $100 plus an assumption of certain debts and obligations.[5]

Translators[edit]

WHPH programming is also carried by a pair of broadcast translators to extend or improve the coverage area of the station.
