Thomas Craig, (born 4 December 1962 as Craig Thompson) is a British actor best known for his work on the TV series Murdoch Mysteries, Where the Heart Is and Hidden, as Tommy Harris in Coronation Street, and in the film The Navigators, directed by Ken Loach in 2001.

Biography[edit]

Craig was originally a plumber before making the move into acting in the 1980s. He attended the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. His stage name is taken from the name of former Sheffield Wednesday player Tommy Craig. His mother, however, said that his stage name derived from a swap of his real name Thompson (hence Thomas) Craig.

He had a brief role in the 1995 film I.D. where he played one of the Tyneburn leaders during the market fight scene. He also appeared in EastEnders in 1992 as Mandy Salter's mother's boyfriend. He also played a few parts in successive episodes of A Touch of Frost.

He is currently starring as Inspector Brackenreid in the Canadian show Murdoch Mysteries.
