The Crew is an American television sitcom that aired from August 31, 1995 to June 30, 1996 on the Fox network.

Production history[edit]

The series was created by John Pardee (who also served as writer and producer), and future Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry executive produced. Music production team Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, aka Wendy & Lisa (Prince & The Revolution), produced and sang the opening title for the series.

The show follows the lives of a group of flight attendants working for the fictitious Regency Airlines. Jess Jameson (Rose Jackson) and Maggie Reynolds (Kristin Bauer) are roommates and work together and live in the trendy South Beach section of Miami, Florida. Their other friends include: Paul, who was gay; Randy, a southern ladies man; Lenora, a former flight attendant; MacArthur, the bartender of Mambo Mambo, the restaurant at which the cast socialize; and Captain Rex Parker.

The show was ultimately canceled due to low ratings (due to being scheduled against the Top 10 hit The Single Guy) and was criticized as being "Friends on a plane".[citation needed]
