Reasoning for assessment: Woefully under-cited and unreferenced article of potentially high importance. There's also surprising little content besides a history and list of alumni. Fair use rationale for Image:Chicagoemblem2.png[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Image:Chicagoemblem2.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WSJ Ranking[edit]

This ranking is biased. It included U of C which is a borderline top 10 school but ignored the other top colleges such as Stanford, UPenn, Darthmouth, and Columbia. Obviously, many lab graduates do go to U of C because of the admission process, tuition benefits, and convenience. Therefore the fairness in the ranking is skewed.

On top of all that, 2007 is really a long time ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.51.72.255 (talk) 00:11, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Earl P. Bell[edit]

I think that the paragraph on Earl Bell ought to be moved to his own page. Why does he need so much more info than anyone else on that page. Just give him one sentence like everyone else and then move the rest of the bio to the Earl P. Bell page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.104.221 (talk) 19:11, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Model United Nations[edit]

Why are the details on the Model UN team's awards and achievements consistently being removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.247.13.196 (talk) 22:11, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

My guess is that details like Model UN achievements or accomplishments of other activities / individuals are removed because other editors do not believe they are notable enough to warrant inclusion in an encyclopedia. Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability - if you can add sources establishing the notability of the Model UN team's awards and achievements, please do so. Image copyright problem with File:University of Chicago Modern Etched Seal 1.svg[edit]

The image File:University of Chicago Modern Etched Seal 1.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --22:47, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
