Sorrento Valley is a part of San Diego, California. It is located about 15 mi (24 km) north of Downtown San Diego and its main airport, Lindbergh Field. It is roughly bounded by Interstate 5 to the west, Interstate 805 to the east, the Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve to the north and Miramar Road to the south.

It is primarily part of the city's Torrey Pines community planning area.


Sorrento Valley is home to high tech, biotech, and IT companies. A notable company in the neighborhood is Websense.

The East edge of Sorrento Valley is the I-805 freeway. The Sorrento Valley train station is a stop for the Coaster commuter and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner rail lines, which provide train links to Oceanside and Downtown San Diego.
