Shelvin Bernard Mack, Jr. (born April 22, 1990) is an American professional basketball guard with the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

High school and college career[edit]

Before signing with Butler University, Mack led the Bryan Station High School Defenders to a 30-3 season in 2008.[1] In Mack's 3 years at Butler, he played as a guard in a total of 108 games. Butler made two appearances in the national title game, but lost them both. In the first of his national title game appearances the team lost to Duke. Mack had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. In his other appearance in the game, a loss to Connecticut, he had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. He declared for the 2011 NBA Draft following his junior year.

During his tenure with Butler he averaged 14.1 points per game.

Professional career[edit]

Mack was selected with the 34th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. On February 1, 2012, Mack scored a career high 12 points against the Orlando Magic.[2]

On October 28, 2012, the Wizards waived Mack.[3] He was then drafted by the Maine Red Claws of the NBA D-League.[4]

On December 25, 2012, Mack was re-signed by the Wizards.[5] He was waived by the Wizards on January 7, 2013,[6] and was reacquired by the Red Claws two days later.[7] On January 17, 2013, Mack was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers on a ten-day contract.[8] He was signed to a second ten-day contract on January 28, 2013.[9] When that contract expired, he rejoined the Red Claws.

On February 4, 2013, Mack was named to the Futures All-Star roster for the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Game.[10]

On March 6, 2013, Mack signed a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks.[11] He signed a second 10-day contract on March 16.[12] On March 26, 2013, he was signed for the remainder of the season.[13]
