Holt attended St. Joseph's Morrow Park High School in Willowdale. She worked as a runway model in Paris before she became an actress.

Acting career

Holt's acting debut was in 1991, appearing in the film Black Robe. She has played characters of various ethnic origins: Polynesian in Rapa Nui (1994); Chinese in the telemovie and subsequent TV show Once a Thief (by John Woo, based on his Once a Thief Hong Kong movie); Native American as Annuka in Black Robe and Pocahontas in Pocahontas: The Legend; Japanese in the film 1999; and as a Latina reporter in 2004's Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

In 2006, she appeared in a recurring role on the television series 24 as Evelyn Martin, the aide to First Lady Martha Logan. In 2007 she appeared in the recurring role of Catherine Rothberg in Showtime's series The L Word.

In 2012 she appeared in Underworld: Awakening as Lida, a scientist who took care of the main character Selene's daughter Eve, and cares for her despite having only been put in charge of her as a "science experiment."
