Raśmiḥ ( रश्मिः ) is a Sanskrit word which has as a meaning "A light ray". In Hindu society, it is commonly used as a name of a female person however it may also be used as a male name.
With reference to the Sanskrit term "Surya Rashmi" ("Surya" ( सूर्य ) = the Sun) - "A ray of Sunlight", similar to the English appellation "Sunbeam".
