The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) is an employer association providing information, services, and advocacy for its member companies in order to build a more prosperous New Jersey.[1] It is the state's largest business association with 23,000 member companies, as of 2006.[2] Members receive benefits including discounts on shipping as well as commercial auto & workers' compensation insurance through the Association's affiliate, the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company.[3]

Origins and history

NJBIA (originally the Manufacturers Association of the State of New Jersey) was founded in 1910 by a group of business owners who wanted to share ideas about workplace safety and who wanted to have a say in government policies affecting their businesses.[4]
