Morgan Smith (born December 30, 1986, in Unionville, Ontario) is a professional skateboarder.

Early life[edit]

Smith received his first skateboard at the age of six, and by ten he was skating with serious intent. He grew up skating in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada.[1]

Professional skateboarding[edit]

In approximately 2004, Smith was asked to skate for the Blind skateboard company during a visit by the team to Smith's hometown. According to Smith, he was asked by the team manager of Blind, Bill Weiss, at a dinner following a day of skateboarding with the Blind team that had been organized by Smith's friend, Pasi Posi.[1]

In the fall of 2008, Smith was featured on the cover of SBC Skateboard magazine[2] and, following a "60 Minutes in the Park" segment for Transworld in June 2012, was surprised by his Blind teammates with a signature deck that indicated his transition into the professional realm.[3]

Video parts[edit]

Smith has been featured in many skateboard films throughout his career, including The Blind Video,[4] and Blind Skateboard's This Is Not A Test.[5]

Contest history[edit]

He competed in the finals of the Battle of the Berrics 4, a competition held for professional skateboarders at The Berrics, along with Mike Mo Capaldi, PJ Ladd, and Davis Torgerson. He beat PJ Ladd in the finals and became the champion.[6]

Sponsors[edit]

As of June 2012, Smith is sponsored by Blind, Venture, Momentum, DC, Blue Tile, Grizzly Grip, and Etcetera.[7]
