The Mitchell's Fish Market chain was founded by restaurateur Cameron Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio and formed part of the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants group.[2] In 2008, the 22 restaurants were sold to Ruth's Chris Steak House (later renamed Ruth's Hospitality Group) for $92m.[3]

Dining[edit]

Restaurants offer both lunch and dinner and are open 7 days a week.

The menu changes frequently to reflect the availability of fresh seafood, which is flown in daily from locations such as Chile, Alaska, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Idaho and the Gulf of Mexico. Around 80 dishes are typically on offer, and the menu is printed twice daily. They are “chain of custody” certified by the Marine Stewardship Council. The Happy Hour bar menu also includes non-seafood items such as chicken wings, cheeseburgers and sliders,[4] as does the children's menu.[5]

The wine list features over 200 labels, mostly from California, and has won numerous awards.

Private dining is available in all locations.
