The discography of Matchbox Twenty, an American rock band, consists of four studio albums, one compilation album, three video albums, one extended play, twenty-two singles and fourteen music videos.

Matchbox Twenty released their debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, in October 1996. The album received very little attention coverage at the time of its release, though the album's first single, "Long Day", had some success in Australia and Canada.[1][2] "Push", the album's second single, received much larger airplay in the US, peaking at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart and reaching the top ten in Australia and Canada.[1][2][3] This saw album sales slowly climb. With the success of follow-up singles such as "3 a.m.", "Real World" and "Back 2 Good", Yourself or Someone Like You achieved massive sales, eventually peaking at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and being certified twelve times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), equivalent to a diamond certification.[4][5]

Following the success of their debut album, the band released their second studio album, Mad Season, in May 2000. Critical reception was mixed,[6] but the album was a commercial and chart success, topping the Australian Albums Chart and peaking at number 3 on both the Canadian Albums Chart and the Billboard 200.[4][7][8] The album's lead single, "Bent", becoming the band's first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching the top 20 in Australia and New Zealand.[1][9][10] The album's second single, "If You're Gone", received extensive airplay on adult-orientated radio stations in the US, peaking at number 5 on the Hot 100.[9] Three more singles were released from the album: "Mad Season", "Angry" and "Last Beautiful Girl".

More Than You Think You Are, the band's third studio album, was released in November 2002. Like Mad Season, the album received mixed reviews from critics.[11] The album's lead single, "Disease", peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100.[9] The album's second single, "Unwell", was more successful, gaining an enormous radio presence in the US and peaking at number 5 on the Hot 100.[9] The success of "Unwell" saw More Than You Think You Are maintain a long lasting chart presence. The album's third single, "Bright Lights", peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.[9] The album's final two singles, "Downfall" and "All I Need", were both moderately successful, with the former charting on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart and the latter charting in Australia.[1][12]

After a five year hiatus to allow lead singer Rob Thomas to begin his solo career, the band reunited to record six new songs for a compilation album. The resulting album, Exile on Mainstream, was released in October 2007, peaking at number 3 on the Billboard 200.[4] The album's lead single, "How Far We've Come", peaked at number 11 on the Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.[4][5] It became the band's most successful song in Australia, where it was announced to be the most played record of the year in that country by the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia. The single also reached the top ten in Australia and Canada.[1][2] Follow-up singles "All Your Reasons" and "These Hard Times" achieved minor success, both reaching the top 40 in Australia.[1] North, the band's fourth studio album, was released in September 2012. It was preceded by the release of its lead single, "She's So Mean", which peaked at number 40 on the Hot 100.[9]
