While on a date with Carmelita, Arthur is kidnapped by "Aztecs". The Tick teams up with Carmelita to find and rescue Arthur and, in the process, gets a pet.

Arthur confiscates a belt from a new super-villain. Since he is tired of being out of shape, he puts it on. The belt has ten settings 1–10 and an off setting. The belt enlarges strength, muscles, and evil. Arthur looks in the mirror and tries it out. He set it to 2 and asks his girlfriend for a date. While there the Barons henchmen lift Arthur up by his arms and try to force him out. Arthur turn the belt up to 3 and he gets stronger and heavier so the henchmen can't hold him. Arthur then spots the Baron and chases after him, cornering him in a narrow alley, Arthur tells the Baron to leave and never come back, and to show he is serious Arthur turns the belt up to 4 and his muscles grow so big they crack the narrow alley. At the restaurant Arthur eats rudely and the tick shows up telling Arthur to take the belt off. Arthur turns the belt up to 5 and he throws the tick away. then he takes his girlfriend to the top of a tall building and the tick shows up for a final battle. to make a long story short the tick is hanging by one hand off the building and holding Arthur with his other. Arthur falls because his muscles are so numerous and big, and heavy he can't each the belt. the belt has ten settings. 1 all fat in the body turns to muscle, still independent. 2 the whole body (minus the head) grows bigger, still independent. 3 muscles double in number, becomes annoying. 4 becomes rude, muscles triple in number. 5 becomes mean, muscles inflate bigger. 10 becomes completely evil, muscles become harder than diamond, muscles grow so big he can rip apart the planet.

Professor Chromedome strikes at a Mad Science Fair, and chaos erupts when he uses a mind-swapping machine to cover his escape. Arthur finally manages to kiss Carmelita, only to find out that The Tick's mind is in Carmelita's body.

The Tick and Arthur become teacher and teacher's aid at an Extension Class for people who want to become Superheroes. While on a field trip, they encounter Uncle Creamy, a disgruntled former employee of an ice cream company on a mission.
