Kierston Wareing, (born 7 January 1976)[1] is a British actress, best known for her portrayal of Kirsty Branning in the long-running British television soap opera, EastEnders,[2] in which she appeared from 25 December 2012 until 9 January 2014.

Career[edit]

She starred in Ken Loach's film It's a Free World... as Angie. She has also played in Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank (2009) and Martina Cole's The Take. She has been nominated for one BAFTA award and three British Independent Film Awards. She also played a role in Banged Up Abroad. Her latest role saw her play the character Heather in Channel 4's Top Boy. She joined the cast of EastEnders in 2012, making her first appearance as Kirsty Branning on 25 December 2012.[3] She left the show in 2014. Wareing also played Delilah in the television series The Bible from 2013.
