Indian Land is an unincorporated community in the northern neck (the "Panhandle") of Lancaster County, South Carolina, United States. It lies just south of Ballantyne in southern Charlotte, east of Fort Mill, and west of Waxhaw. It is a major suburb of both Rock Hill and Charlotte. The ZIP code of the community is 29707.

Education[edit]

Schools in Indian Land include Indian Land Elementary, Harrisburg Elementary (opened fall 2014), Indian Land Middle School, and Indian Land High School. Indian Land High School recently earned state recognition for being a Red Carpet School.[1] Indian Land Middle School has been recognized as a National School to Watch, a State School of Character, a Palmetto Gold School, and a Red Carpet School. Transportation[edit]

U.S. Route 521 and South Carolina Highway 160 are two major roads that run through Indian Land. There has been talk of Indian Land incorporating, but incorporation would not happen for several years according to the Fort Mill Times.[3]

Economy[edit]

Indian Land contains the headquarters of Continental Tire North America, Red Ventures, Sharonview Federal Credit Union, and The Inspiration Networks.[citation needed]
