Helen Joyce Gabriel Flanagan (born 7 August 1990)[2] is an English actress and model best known for playing the character of Rosie Webster in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street for 12 years.[3] She was voted the most attractive British candidate in the 2013 FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll.[4][5]

Film and television work[edit]

Flanagan first appeared as Rosie Webster in Coronation Street January 2000.[3] In 2006, she was nominated for the award of "Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress" at the British Soap Awards, losing to Ellis Hollins of Hollyoaks.[5] In 2007, she was nominated for "Villain of the Year" at the same awards, this time losing to Coronation Street co-star Jack P. Shepherd (who plays David Platt).[5] In October 2011, Flanagan announced that she would leave Coronation Street in February 2012 to pursue other interests.[6]

In November 2012, Flanagan participated in the twelfth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!,[4] finishing in seventh place out of the 12 celebrities who appeared.[5][7]

In September 2013, Flanagan participated and appeared in Celebrity Super Spa a reality-television program based in a Liverpool Salon on Channel 5.

Personal life[edit]

Flanagan attended Westholme School in Blackburn, Lancashire.[4] She has previously dated Manchester City F.C. and former Wigan Athletic F.C. and Swansea City A.F.C. player Scott Sinclair,[13][14] with whom she continues to live.[4] In December 2012, she spoke of her battle with depression and anxiety, and stated that she had been prescribed medication for ADHD and bipolar disorder.[15]

In June 2013, Flanagan and Sinclair's house in Prestbury, Cheshire was burgled.[4] Flanagan was at home on the night of the incident; the thieves escaped with a mobile phone and items of jewellery.[4] She was reported by her spokesman to be "naturally very shaken" but "unharmed".[4]

On 10 September 2013, Flanagan posed topless as a Page 3 girl in The Sun.[16][17]
