Guy Gilchrist (born January 30, 1957) is a cartoonist/poet/songwriter and author whose work includes a run on the comic strip Nancy, Your Angels Speak, Night Lights & Pillow Fights, Screams, The Poetry Guy, The Muppets and The Rock Channel. As of the 2010s writes and draws Nancy and Today's Dogg, a panel launched in 2010 on Facebook, and later picked up by comics.com, United Features' website. He has also written 49 books, and had songs he wrote or cowrote recorded by Suzy Bogguss, Glenn Douglas Tubb, Billy Swan, Eddie Kilgallon, Carol Hahn and others, as well as having his version of the songs "Victoria's Secret," "Heart of the Night," "Christmas Light" and "I Don't Need You" played on country radio worldwide.
Gilchrist debuted in the late 1970s with Superkernel Comics, a monthly comic book published by Weekly Reader Books in Middletown, Connecticut.  He also created the comic strip Mudpie.  Additionally, he designed logos for Minor League baseball teams like the Portland Sea Dogs, Norwich Navigators, and New Britain Rock Cats, and was also the cartoonist behind J. League football team Shimizu S-Pulse's mascot, Palchan.
He won the National Cartoonist Society Magazine and Book Illustration Award for 1997 and 1998, and was nominated for their Book Illustration Award for 1999 and 2001.
