Gregg Steinhafel is the President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Target Corporation. Gregg Steinhafel became CEO of Target Corp. in 2008. Steinhafel has been the company's president since 1999, and has been with the company since 1979.[1]

Steinhafel is a Milwaukee-area native. His grandfather, an Austrian immigrant, founded the Steinhafels Furniture store in Milwaukee in 1934. Gregg began working in the store when was in grade school, performing odd jobs.

In 1979, Steinhafel was recruited as a merchandising trainee by Target. He is a graduate of Carroll University (Carroll College at the time) of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
