Evan Blake Dietrich-Smith (born July 19, 1986) is an American football guard and center for the Green Bay Packers of the NFL. He played college football at Idaho State. Evan Dietrich-Smith is of German descent.

Professional career[edit source | edit]

Green Bay Packers[edit source | edit]

He was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2009 but was waived in the last round of cuts after training camp in 2010.[1]

Seattle Seahawks[edit source | edit]

On September 5, 2010, he was signed by the Seattle Seahawks before being released on October 5, 2010.[2]

Second stint with the Green Bay Packers[edit source | edit]

On December 31, 2010 he resigned with the Green Bay Packers.[3] He got his first championship ring when the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.

On Thanksgiving Day - November 24, 2011, Dietrich-Smith was stomped by Detroit Lions defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh. Suh was ejected from the game and served a two game suspension.[4] Former Green Bay Packer Matt Brock Claims that Dietrich Smith and other packer linemen kept untying Suh's shoes and that is what led to the stomping incident. [5]
