Endurance International Group, Inc. (EIG), formerly BizLand,[1] is one of the world's largest website hosting companies.[2] The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts,[1] managing over 2.9 million customers and 10 million domains.[3] It achieved its size by acquiring a large number of smaller hosts, which it continues to operate under the original names.[4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9][10] In 2011, Endurance was bought from Accel-KKR by Warburg Pincus and GS Capital Partners, for around $975 million.[11][12]

Privacy issues[edit]

American citizen Anthony Chai filed a lawsuit against Netfirms on August 24, 2011, alleging Netfirms disclosed his IP address and email to the government of Thailand after Chai posted comments on a website hosted by Netfirms.[35][36]
