Connections Academy is a company that operates online charter or virtual schools public school that students in grades K-12 attend from home

The individual schools are operated in cooperation with or under contract to local school districts or local charter schools.[1]

Connections Academy is a virtual educational program (also known as virtual school or cyber school) serving students in grades K-12, depending on the state. Certified teachers work with students and a parent or other adult, referred to as a "Learning Coach," to deliver instruction. The Connections Academy program is accredited by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission.

Connections Academy's school mascot is StarBoy. The school colors are orange and navy.



There are online public Connections Academy schools in 23 states and 8 more states that have a public school in development (as of March 2012):

Connections Academy also offers an online private school for grades K–12 called National Connections Academy which includes more advanced and strict schooling regiments.[citation needed]


Pearson announced that it would acquire Connections Education on September 15, 2011. [2]
