Bryce William Petty (born May 31, 1991) is an American football quarterback for the Baylor Bears. Petty led the 2013 Baylor football team to a school record 11 wins, and a trip to the Fiesta Bowl. He was the frontman of the most prolific offense in the country, as Baylor would go on to lead the FBS in scoring and total offense for that year.

Early years[edit]

Petty attended Midlothian High School in Midlothian, Texas. He was ranked by Rivals.com as the 25th best pro-style quarterback recruit.[1]

College career[edit]

Petty did not play in any games as a true freshman in 2010. As a redshirt freshman in 2011 he appeared in five games as a backup to Robert Griffin III. He finished the season completing 3 of 4 passes for 43 yards. As a sophomore in 2012 he was the backup to Nick Florence playing in six games, completing 7 of 10 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. As a junior in 2013 he took over as the starting quarterback.[2][3] He finished the year with 4,200 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He also rushed for 14 touchdowns.
