Boulder Community Hospital was founded in 1922. It is located in Boulder, Colorado (1100 Balsam Ave.) and operated by Boulder Community Health.

From 1922 until Oct. 9, 2014, Boulder Community Hospital served as Boulder's main acute care hospital. On October 9, 2014, the Emergency Department at Boulder Community Hospital closed. All emergency and trauma services were relocated to Foothills Hospital (4747 Arapahoe Avenue) in Boulder. In addition, on October 9, 2014, Boulder Community Health consolidated the majority of inpatient acute care services at Foothills Hospital, located at Foothills Parkway and Arapahoe Avenue in east Boulder. This included surgery, imaging and laboratory services, and inpatient care for patients with heart disease, cancer, neurological issues and orthopedic injuries. There were no changes in the range of services available, only the location. This was part of a consolidation of services at Foothills Hospital, which is now Boulder's main acute care hospital and a regional trauma center.

The following inpatient services are available at Boulder Community Hospital:

Behavioral Health Services -- inpatient Behavioral Health program offers (24 hour, 7 days a week) care and support for adult patients and their families.

Physical Rehabilitation -- comprehensive and individualized services with special expertise in the rehabilitation of traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries, neurological injuries and illnesses, orthopedic injuries and post-surgical care.
