Bailey Chase (born Bailey Chase Luetgert on May 1, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois) is a stage and television actor known for his role as Butch Ada in the television series Saving Grace, his recurring roles as Graham Miller in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Christopher "Chris" Robert Hughes (from 2003–2005) in the soap opera As the World Turns and Beckett 'Becks' Scott on Ugly Betty.

Early life[edit]

Chase spent time growing up between Barrington, Illinois and Naples, Florida, and went to high school in Jacksonville, Florida[1] where he was roommate of Atlanta Braves star, Chipper Jones. He attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina on a full football athletic scholarship, playing linebacker. He graduated in 1995 with a degree in Psychology. Moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career, he also trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and worked with the Improv group, The Groundlings. He now resides primarily in New York.

Career[edit]

Earlier in his career, he was sometimes credited as Bailey Luetgert.

He was a series regular on TNT's drama Saving Grace, in the role of Detective Butch Ada. The series has now ended.

In 2012 he was cast as Deputy Branch Connally, a foil to the lead, on the A&E western mystery series Longmire.[1]
